Tassel sandals, maxi dress

The tiny studs on these sandals are a fun spin on the traditional patent leather and tassels combination. Wore them with a maxi dress with a beautiful spider net in silver thread on it for yet another element of edginess to a simple outfit.

20 km of Brussels

Like so many other bruxellois this morning, I put on my sneakers and headed to the Cinquantenaire Park for the start of the annual race, the 20km of Brussels. Before you get all cheery and supportive, I should specify I was part of the watching crowd. I wish I were braver and trained harder and of course I made a resolution to enter the competition next year.

Anyway, I felt pretty sporty in my casual outfit today, my fashion tribute to the race:

Wearing heels again to work

This was actually intended to be a post about high-heels and the photo was supposed to illustrate the topic (it doesn’t). I wore heels again to work the other day (when I was wearing this outfit) and I was just thinking: wow, I’ve been wearing flats for so long that when I slip into a high heel now, I can feel the transformation. I walk a little taller, I feel the surge of confidence and they’re just plain empowering – in a fun way ;-)

Flat metallic sandals. Yes.

Guess I know where I’ll be on 8 March a.m.

Glitter ballerinas

A couple of weeks ago I thought I’d found the perfect sparkly shoes and ordered them pronto. But then I’ve got this email from the MiuMiu client service informing me that “due to technical problems the item available at the moment of your order was actually out of stock”. Quite a disappointment..

All for the better though: these cute glittery flats are modern and trendy enough to make their way into my closet instead. Although very sparkly, they’ll serve more as a complement to an outfit rather than the focus. Love their soles too! ;-)

Return of the flat shoe..

..in my life, that is. Have you ever felt oddly cute in an outfit you never wore? Nothing like re-discovering old things – it’s like they’re new again!*

Relishing in foot comfort and softness with my newly re-discovered collection of ballerinas, today I’m wearing:

Cork and pink flats / Pretty Ballerinas

*Wait, they ARE new ;-)

A contemporary take on a 70’s trend

It was love at first sight with these Ferragamo* wedges**. Bought them on a winter sales two years ago or so. I found them so beautiful! I never wore them much though; they are quite high and not that comfortable even for that period of my life when things like painful, impossibly high heels were completely obscured by my love of a statement shoe.

And this they are. Wear them with a pair of high-waist flared jeans to make a turning heads outfit. Tried and tested ;-)

This spring I might be wearing:

Textile and bronze leather satin-heel wedges / Ferragamo
High-waist flared jeans with front pockets / Notify
Blue & white striped shirt with ruffled collar / River Woods
Braided textile belt with round plastic buckle / H&M

Told you I was a fan. And wait, there’s more to come about me & Ferragamo love in future posts.
**  I couldn’t decide which photo to post: The ‘1977 effect’ one to show the beautiful bronze shades of the shoes or the ‘Walden effect’ pic giving it a full denim approach. Which one do you like most?
